FAQ

Questions about plans.

Pricing, the free trial, and when to add Kubernetes. Something else on your mind?

Talk to us
How much does Rubuz cost?
Pricing depends on how many servers and clusters you run, so talk to us about your setup and we will share pricing for it. Your servers and cluster nodes are billed to you by your provider, not by Rubuz.
What is the difference between VPS and Kubernetes + VPS?
VPS covers apps on servers you rent from any provider, deployed with git push, with databases, open-source apps, SSL, backups and monitoring. Kubernetes + VPS includes all of that, plus managed Kubernetes clusters in your own DigitalOcean, Vultr or Linode account, with high availability, autoscaling and rolling deploys.
Which cloud accounts can run managed Kubernetes?
DigitalOcean, Vultr and Linode. The cluster runs in your own account, so the nodes and load balancers are billed to you by that provider, and Rubuz manages the cluster from the same console as your servers.
When should I move from a VPS to Kubernetes?
When one server is no longer enough, for example when you need high availability, autoscaling or rolling deploys across several nodes. Your VPS servers and your clusters stay in the same console, so you can run both.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The trial lasts 14 days and needs no card. If it ends without a plan, your Rubuz account is locked until you subscribe, and the apps already running on your servers keep running.
Are there limits on apps, domains or databases?
No. Rubuz does not cap the number of apps, domains or databases you deploy. The only limit is your server's CPU, memory and disk.
What happens to my apps if I stop using Rubuz?
They keep running. Rubuz sets up standard Podman containers and system services on your servers and installs no agent, so your apps, databases and scheduled jobs stay where they are.
Which servers and operating systems are supported?
Any 64-bit Debian 13 or Ubuntu 26.04 LTS server that Rubuz can reach over SSH, from DigitalOcean, Hetzner, AWS EC2, Google Cloud, Linode, Vultr, Contabo, Scaleway, UpCloud or OVHcloud.
